Blinded by fear, Kans mercilessly kills Devaki’s seven newborns. He orders his guards to inform him the moment her eighth child is born. On that fateful night, Lord Vishnu himself appears before Devaki and Vasudeva in his divine form, assuring them of his purpose to end Kans’ tyranny. With Devaki’s blessing, Vishnu takes birth as her son — the child who will be known to the world as Krishna.
